Ex-crusader Nic Cage (what the f***?!) returns to Germany, or Prussia, or whatever it was called then. Germania, let's say. Anyway. With his side-kick Ron Perlman he ends up on a quest to deliver a young witch-girl to some remote abbey for exorcism. And it turns out she's got supernatural powers. Or something. And they must then fight evil.

Seems obvious to me that Ron Perlman should have gotten the leading role in this, but of course that would have meant a film with a budget of between $40m and $100m, and no-one's making those these days.

The trailer is beautifully shot, and that probably means the rest of it is too. Which is a bad thing - whenever anyone says "it's beautifully shot", they weren't caught up in the story. Here's where my money would go if I were a betting man who had any money:
1. Nic Cage ruins it by being Nic Cage. Great actor, so often miscast.
2. It's hoping to compete with Robin Hood. (I haven't seen that either, so I'll review it soon).
3. It won't.

But then I don't know, I haven't seen it.
